Feels like I’m boosting on here way more than I used to retweet, and not writing many original toots. But the quality of the feeds and the trends here is so much better than it was in the Bad Place, I’m constantly seeing stuff from my follows that is actually interesting and funny.
Am I boosting too much?
@glyph I voted "you do you" but I think I'm going to need to set up my own instance that deduplicates boosts.
In twitter, I typically would turn off RTs for anyone who RT'd stale stuff into my timeline but I don't really want to do that here - just avoid seeing the same funny Meta cartoon 5 times a day every day for a week.
@PaulM I’d been seeing this juuust enough that it was kind of gaslighting me — I’d see the same thing maybe 2 or 3 times and think “hang on, wasn’t this somewhere else in my feed”, but not enough to really be sure. I was not sure whether boosts were being deduped or not. Thank you for confirming my reality here :-).
